Funeral Parlours & Venues.

Yes. We arrange a walkthrough of any parlour or hall so your family can see the space in person first.

Do you arrange venues outside your own parlours?

Yes, we regularly book void decks, community halls and churches island-wide on your behalf.

How far in advance should we book a venue?

As soon as a date is set. Popular halls can be booked within a day or two of a passing.

Is parking available at every venue?

It varies by location. Our team confirms parking availability before you commit to a venue.

Can a venue be changed after booking?

In most cases, yes. Speak with your funeral director as early as possible if plans change.

Christian Funeral Services.

Do you help with hymn and reading selection?

Yes, we can suggest common hymns and Scripture readings, or work from your family's own preferences.

Catholic Funeral Services.

Yes, we liaise directly with your parish office on Mass timing and the order of service.

What if our family doesn't have a home parish?

Can you help arrange Novena or Anniversary Masses?

Yes, we guide families through arranging these with their parish after the funeral.

Freethinker Funeral Services.

Do we need a religious officiant of any kind?

No, a Freethinker service has no religious requirement. We can help arrange an emcee if your family wants one.

Can we still include Chinese dialect customs?

Yes, we regularly incorporate joss stick offerings, paper item burning, and other family customs alongside a secular structure.

What if we don't know how to structure the service ourselves?

We help draft a full running order in advance, so nothing feels unplanned on the day.

Can family members lead parts of the service themselves?

Yes, many families prefer this, and we help brief speakers on timing and structure beforehand.

Direct Cremation.

Is there really no service at all?

Correct, direct cremation has no wake or formal service, though a brief private viewing can be arranged if wanted.

How quickly can cremation take place?

Often within a few days of the first call, once documentation and a crematorium slot are confirmed.

Can we still hold a memorial afterward?

Yes, many families hold a small private gathering once the ashes have been collected, on their own timeline.

What happens to the ashes?

They're collected on your family's behalf and handed over for you to keep, inter in a columbarium, or scatter, whatever you choose.

Is direct cremation cheaper than a full funeral?

Yes, generally, since it removes wake, venue and service-related costs.

Can family overseas still be involved?

Yes, we can help keep family updated throughout, and discuss options where the crematorium permits it.

Burial Services.

Can we choose our burial plot?

Not entirely freely. NEA allocates plots by religious section and availability, though we always raise specific requests where possible.

What happens after 15 years?

NEA issues an exhumation notice, and the remains are exhumed, almost always followed by cremation.

Which religious sections are available?

Choa Chu Kang Cemetery includes Christian, Muslim, Hindu and general sections, among others.

When should we install a headstone?

Whenever your family is ready. There's no fixed deadline after the burial itself.

Can you help with exhumation when the time comes?

Yes, we manage the full exhumation process, from NEA liaison through to cremation and ash placement.

How much does burial cost, compared to cremation?

Burial typically costs more, due to the NEA plot fee and grave marker costs on top of the usual funeral expenses.

Exhumation Services.

Is receiving an exhumation notice unusual?

No, it's routine once a burial plot's 15-year tenure ends, and applies to every plot at Choa Chu Kang Cemetery.

How much time do we have to respond?

The notice specifies a response window; reaching out to us as soon as you receive it gives your family the most flexibility.

What happens to the remains after exhumation?

Cremation almost always follows, after which the ashes can be placed in a columbarium, kept at home, or scattered.

Can you help us choose a columbarium?

Yes, we can advise based on budget, location, religious affiliation and other family considerations.

Do we need to hold any kind of service?

Not necessarily, though a short committal moment can be arranged if your family wants one.

What if we're not sure we're the right person to respond to the notice?

Reach out to us before contacting NEA. We can help clarify the notice and the right next step.

International Repatriation.

How long does international repatriation typically take?

Usually a week or more, depending on embassy processing, airline scheduling and customs at both ends.

Can you help if my loved one passed away in a country you haven't worked with before?

Yes, the core process, embalming, documentation, embassy and airline coordination, applies broadly, and we adapt to each country's specific requirements.

What documentation is required?

A death certificate recognised by both countries, embalming certification, and any consular or customs forms the destination requires.

Do you handle both directions, into and out of Singapore?

Yes, we coordinate repatriation both to bring a loved one home to Singapore and to send them to their home country.

Can family who are overseas stay updated throughout?

Yes, we provide regular updates across time zones throughout the process.

What happens once the remains arrive?

We, or a receiving funeral home at the destination, take over directly to arrange the funeral itself, according to your family's faith and wishes.

Precious Angel Funeral.

Do we need to decide anything before calling?

No, not at all. The first conversation is simply for talking and listening.

Can the service be very small and private?

Yes, entirely. Some families choose only parents present, with nothing more.

Can we include siblings or grandparents?

Yes, entirely at your family's own pace and choice.

Can you help us with keepsakes like handprints or photographs?

Yes, gently and only if your family would like them.

Is there support available after the funeral itself?

Yes, we can connect your family with grief counsellors experienced in child loss, and remain reachable ourselves indefinitely.

Will we be pressured toward a larger or costlier service?

No. There is no upselling, and your family's own wishes always come first.

Funeral Pre-Planning.

Is pre-planning only for older people?

No, pre-planning is valuable at any age, particularly for anyone who wants certainty around their own wishes.

Do we have to pre-pay?

No, pre-payment is entirely optional. You can simply document your wishes without paying anything upfront.

Can we update the plan later?

Yes, you can revisit and adjust your plan at any time as circumstances or preferences change.

What happens to a pre-paid plan if I move overseas?

We can discuss options at that time; reach out to us if your circumstances change significantly.

Does my family need to know I've made a plan?

Not necessarily, though we can help think through how and when to let them know, if you'd like guidance.

How is my plan activated when the time comes?

Your family simply calls us, and we retrieve your plan and carry it out exactly as recorded.
